COVID – 19 UPDATE 9/10/2020 Intake and Changes for the Public

  • Starting Wednesday July 8, 2020 the public will need to make appointments to visit the shelter.

  • Anyone coming into the shelter will be asked to wear a mask. We ask that only one person enter the shelter.

  • Check the website ( lost and found photos for pets if there has been exposure or illness. If the pet is on the website, we can do a redemption by phone and email and arrange a pickup time where we will bring the pet to the vehicle.

  • Check Lost/Found Pet Facebook pages for found animals:

    • Utah County Lost & Found Pets

    • Utah Lost and Found Pets

  • Email or Facebook message a photo, description, and contact information for the missing pet to the shelter for us to post on our Facebook page.

Found Pets:

We are attempting to only bring in emergency intake animals and are looking to have the public’s help to get the animals home before they come to the shelter.

  • Ask finder if they are able to hold onto the animal for a while to try to find the owner. We are taking down their contact information and asking to be sent a photo, description, and contact information for the finder by email or Facebook messenger to the South Utah Valley Animal Shelter Facebook page.

  • If someone is setting cat traps, we are asking them to not set any more traps for the time being. If they already have one in a trap, we will take it.

  • If someone has found neonatal kittens without a mother, we are asking them to leave the kittens if they are in good shape. Mother cat is likely nearby and waiting to return to her kittens.

Owner Release Pets:

  • We are currently only taking in emergency case owner release pets right now.
